31 year old Kristina Hoekstra has been identified as the victim of an I-10 crash caused by a driver who entered traffic driving the wrong way.
The collision occurred around 8:30pm of Friday, June 15, where I-10 runs through downtown Tucson. According to reports, 44 year old Michael Beaudry entered the eastbound off-ramp driving the wrong way before crashing head-on into Ms. Hoeksra. He was unbelted and ejected from his vehicle.
As of Saturday night, Mr. Beaudry was listed in critical condition in a local hospital.
Ms. Hoekstra was pulled out of the wreckage by a passerby. She did not survive.
Earlier this year Dev Sethi resolved a nearly identical wrongful death case for the family of a Wilcox, AZ gentleman who was killed on I-10 when his vehicle was struck, head-on, by a wrong-way driver. The at-fault driver was over-tired and in the midst of a cross-country drive when he entered the highway driving the incorrect direction.
Saturday's collision remains under investigation.
