Burt is an expert in civil trial work, including personal injury, product liability, medical malpractice and multiple party lawsuits. His skill as a pilot and his experience as an intelligence officer and paratrooper for the 18th Airborne Corps have given him special insight into the area of aircraft litigation and he is an acknowledged leader in that field. Burt is also very well known for his expertise as a contract negotiator and, indeed, personal mentor, for professional athletes. He, in fact, was instrumental in establishing Tucson as a spring training center for Major League Baseball.

A graduate of the University of Arizona College of Law, Burt remains active in the community. He is involved with the Tucson Conquistadores, the UA Foundation, the Catholic Foundation of the Diocese of Tucson and was a founding member of the Copper Bowl Foundation. He has been voted Man of the Year and Father of the Year, is a member of the Tucson High School and Pima County Halls of Fame and has been named to Best Lawyers in America.

Burt and his wife, Nancy, have four children.
